BioFlo Universal Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 17, 2026 • Scope: bioflo.in, all 21 Scientific Web Applications, Mobile Applications, and Bio-Compute Services.
Core Architecture: In-Memory Client-Side Processing & Zero Scientific Storage
BioFlo web applications perform mathematical modeling, hydrodynamic correlations, CFD analyses, and computer-vision colony evaluations locally in your browser or on-device memory. We do not transmit, log, or store your proprietary experimental formulas, biological data, or uploaded specimen imagery on external servers.
1. Scope & Applicability Across All BioFlo Services
This Universal Privacy Policy governs the official BioFlo platform (https://bioflo.in) and extends uniformly to all proprietary web applications, computational engineering engines, and mobile applications developed and distributed by BioFlo, including:
2. Data Handling by Application Category
A. Web Calculators & Computational Engines
Parameters entered into our calculators (e.g., impeller diameters, rotational speed RPM, volumetric aeration VVM, liquid viscosity, gas constants, dilution ratios) are executed strictly in your local browser runtime via JavaScript and WebAssembly. No experimental constants or process inputs are transmitted to our servers or stored in any database.
B. Computer Vision & Imaging Tools (PetriPlate AI & CytoCount)
When evaluating agar plates or microbiological specimens, processing is performed directly in client-side memory using HTML5 Canvas and on-device machine-learning inference. Uploaded and camera-captured plate images never leave your device. We do not log, catalog, or use your biological specimens or plate imagery for model retraining unless you explicitly opt in to an academic research benchmark.
C. Academic Research Applications (DOI2Cite & CiteSmart)
When resolving a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), our tool queries public scholarly metadata registries (such as Crossref or DataCite) exclusively to fetch citation details (authors, title, publication date). Your citation queries and bibliographies are not recorded or linked to personal identifiers.
D. Mobile Applications (Android Permissions)
BioFlo PetriCount requests Camera and Local Storage permissions solely to snap agar plates and export calculation summaries (PDF/CSV) to your local file system. Our mobile tools do not access contacts, location sensors, microphones, or biometric data.
3. Technical Telemetry & Server-Side Measurement
To ensure platform availability, prevent denial-of-service disruptions, and monitor computational performance, we collect non-identifying operational telemetry:
- Operational Telemetry: Browser engine, device category, screen viewport, operating system, and referral headers.
- Server-Side Analytics: We utilize first-party server-side Google Analytics 4 (routed through our custom tracking domain). IP addresses are masked and anonymized at point of receipt.
- Numerical Diagnostics: Anonymized runtime traces to catch mathematical divergence, division-by-zero exceptions, or WebAssembly runtime faults.
4. Cookies & Browser Storage
BioFlo uses cookies and local browser keys strictly for functional utility and anonymized traffic metrics:
| Identifier | Storage Type | Lifespan | Operational Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| bioflo_app_prefs | Local Storage | Persistent | Stores calculation preferences (metric/imperial units, default impeller models). |
| _bioflo_uid | First-Party Cookie | 2 Years | Anonymous retention token deployed via HTTP headers to prevent Safari ITP session splitting. |
| _ga, _gid | Analytics Cookie | Session / 2 Years | Aggregated visitor traffic analytics without personal profiling or cross-site tracking. |
5. Zero Commercial Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information, experimental calculations, or research data with any third parties or advertising networks. We only interface with reputable hosting and security infrastructure providers (e.g., GoDaddy hosting, Cloudflare CDN) under confidentiality mandates strictly to maintain server uptime, cryptographic security, and network defenses.
6. User Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global Compliance)
Regardless of your jurisdiction, BioFlo upholds universal privacy rights:
- Immediate Local Erasure: You can purge all saved calculation histories and local application parameters at any moment by clearing your browser’s Local Storage and Cache.
- Data Access Inquiries: You may submit an inquiry regarding any direct contact communications submitted through our forms.
- Respect for Privacy Signals: All BioFlo web applications fully respect automated browser “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
